A presente tese versa a respeito das variadas figuras que a mulher pode representar nas relações internacionais tanto pacíficas quanto conflituosas. Tem como objetivo primordial definir em quais papeis a mulher pode atuar quando da resolução de conflitos. Para alcançar uma resposta satisfatória, analisa previamente determinadas questões. Dentre elas, investiga inicialmente a história das mulheres e seu papel na sociedade, com início no ano 4000 a.C., até o tempo atual. No segundo capítulo, verifica o histórico do movimento feminista e a evolução dos direitos das mulheres mais emblemáticos, tanto em âmbito nacional quanto internacional.
No terceiro capítulo, a parte fundamental da obra, perquire os papeis assumidos pelas mulheres atuantes nas relações internacionais, dividindo-as em seis categorias: as mulheres cidadãs, militares, religiosas, políticas, empresárias e no serviço diplomático. Em cada uma das categorias, explana seu significado com base em exemplos históricos e sociais marcantes. Por fim, de forma breve, analisa o movimento de proteção internacional das mulheres com base na Organização das Nações Unidas e na Organização Internacional do Trabalho.
The present thesis is about the various figures that women can represent in both peaceful as conflictual international relations. Its primary objective is to define in which roles a woman can act when working at conflict resolution. To achieve a satisfactory answer, it’s necessary to previously analyse certain issues. Among them, initially investigates the history of women and their role in society, beginning with the year 4000 BC to the present time. In the second chapter, checks the history of the feminist movement and the evolution of the rights of the most iconic women, both nationally and internationally. In the third chapter, the main core of the work, questions the roles assumed by women active in international relations, dividing them into six categories: the citizen women, military, religious, political, entrepreneurs and the diplomatic service. In each category, explains their significance based on historical and social striking examples. Finally, briefly analyses the international protection of women's movement based on the United Nations and the International Labour Organisation.
