Resumo(s)
O presente trabalho de cariz investigativo pretende contribuir para o estudo e
a compreensão da forma como alunos do ensino secundário resolvem problemas
envolvendo funções quadráticas. Mais concretamente, pretende-se estudar que
estratégias e representações são utilizadas pelos alunos na resolução de problemas
envolvendo funções quadráticas; que erros e dificuldades são evidenciadas pelos
alunos na resolução deste tipo de problemas; e como é que os alunos mobilizam os
conhecimentos adquiridos durante a unidade de ensino dedicada às funções
quadráticas. O trabalho resulta da leccionação desta unidade de ensino a alunos de
Matemática A, do 10º ano. A metodologia de investigação adoptada é qualitativa.
Baseia-se na observação do trabalho dos alunos, durante as aulas, na observação e
análise das suas produções escritas, realizadas em sala de aula, e em entrevistas
realizadas a três alunos com desempenhos matemáticos diferentes.
The aim of the present investigation is to contribute to the study and understanding of problem-solving involving quadratic functions, by high school students. This means studying strategies and representations employed by students in the solution of problems involving quadratic functions; determining mistakes and difficulties that students exhibit while solving such problems; and understanding how students apprehend and employ concepts and techniques taught during classes on quadratic functions. The present work stems from these classes, taught to tenth grade students. The investigation methodology adopted is qualitative. It is based on the observation of work done by students, during classes, observation and analysis of written work, produced by them in the classroom, and on interviews given by three students with different mathematical performances.
