The canine atopic dermatitis (CAD) is a skin condition that currently affects 10-15% of dogs. The most common clinical signs are pruritus and generalized inflammation. The diagnosis of DAC is based on the anamnesis, clinical signs and the exclusion of other diseases with similar clinical manifestations. For 80% of dogs the treatment is chronical and therefore must be adapted and individualized according to the requirements of each animal and according to the possibilities of each owner. The drugs for the treatment of CAD have complex and demanding posologies for owners. For these reasons, CAD influences the lifestyle of dogs and owners, causing major threats and burdens, both emotionally and financially. This study includes 30 dogs with a clinical diagnosis of CAD and respective owners. The sociodemographic data of the animals and the owners were analyzed, as well as the treatment and posology for each animal, pruritus, adherence by the means of a mobile application and finally the MAT questionnaire. This is intended to contribute to a better adherence in complex therapeutic regimens, allowing for appropriate therapy and faster treatment of pathological symptoms in dogs with CAD. The sample gender is parity, with ages ranging from 2 to 10 years. The sample consist of 16 different breeds and 1 category of undetermined breeds. During 6 weeks of study, the veterinarians prescribed 135 individual drugs. Each therapy includes 2 to 7 different types of drugs for the treatment of CAD. The study concluded that global non-adherence was 12.6% when measured by drug withdrawal and mobile application records. 60% of owners are considered adherent by the results of the MAT questionnaire. The average degree of pruritus decreased over time and during treatment. Owners educational level directly impacts adherence.
