| dc.description.abstract | No Vale do Côa, a utilização da pintura em arte rupestre surge quantitativamente de forma muito reduzida e unicamente em tempos pré-históricos, face à predominância da gravura no decurso dos longos milénios em que signos e imagens foram sendo ali criados. Esta limitação quantitativa não se reflecte na sua relevância científica, como o presente texto procura demonstrar. No contexto de uma síntese sobre os principais conjuntos de pintura pré-histórica nesta região, que se podem dividir em três grupos principais, cronológica e culturalmente subsequentes, será trazida à estampa notícia preliminar de uma das mais surpreendentes revelações que o Vale do Côa guardou para o século XXI: a presença de composições pictóricas que denotam uma clara afinidade estilística com algumas manifestações de Arte Levantina. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | In the Côa Valley, rock paintings appear in small numbers and exclusively in Prehistory, contrasting with the sheer predominance of engravings created across the valley throughout the long millennia its rock art endures. This quantitative limitation does not reflect its scientific relevance, as this paper attempts to demonstrate. In this overview of the main assemblages of prehistoric paintings in the study area, divided into three chronologically and culturally subsequent groups, we shall address one of the most surprising revelations that the Côa Valley kept for the 21st century: the presence of painted compositions that denote clear stylistic similarities with expressions of Levantine Art. | pt_PT |
