Asma brônquica, rinossinusite crónica com pólipos nasais e intolerância a antiinflamatórios não esteroides quando presentes simultaneamente definem a tríade de Widal. Esta carateriza-se por englobar numa mesma entidade vários sintomas do trato respiratório superior e inferior, podendo ser também referida como doença respiratória exacerbada pela aspirina. Esta síndrome causa importante morbilidade a longo prazo, tornando-se imperativo um conhecimento aprofundado das opções terapêuticas disponíveis de modo a conseguir uma diminuição da frequência e intensidade dos sintomas. Um correto seguimento destes pacientes é por isso fundamental para atingir uma melhoraria na qualidade de vida dos mesmos.
Bronchial asthma, chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps and intolerance to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs when present simultaneously define Widal's triad. This entity includes serveral symptoms of the upper and lower respiratory tract, and can also be referred to as by aspirin exacerbated respiratory disease. This syndrome causes important long-term morbidity, making it necessary to have a thorough knowledge of the available therapeutic options in order to achieve a reduction in the frequency and intensity of symptoms. Correct follow-up of these patients is therefore essential to achieve an improvement in their quality of life.
