This report describes the internship activities carried out within the scope of the Master's Degree in Psychomotor Rehabilitation, Professional Skills Development Branch (RACP), and Faculty of Human Mobility of the University of Lisbon, held at the Vila Real Unit of the Nuclisol Jean Piaget Association Child Development, Integration and Solidarity. The vocational training course was held in the academic year 2017-2018, through a psychomotor intervention aimed at the clients of this institution, in particular a group of clients integrated in the Center for Occupational Activities (CAO) in the context of the room and the water environment. After the moment of integration and informal contact in the institution the establishment of objectives for the intervention process was designed taking into account the evaluation of quality of life (QL) and adaptive behavior (CA) for individuals with DID (Intellectual and Developmental Difficulty), using the WHOQOL-BREF-ID and Disability Module (version by representative) (DIS-QOL Group, 2008) and the Adaptive Behavior Scale - Portuguese Version (ECAP) (Santos and Morato, 2004). Psychomotor intervention was planned according to the needs of the clients, through the use of relaxation and sensory stimulation techniques, in order to reduce the levels of anxiety, tension and stress, thus improving the quality of life of the clients. After the intervention, the initial and final results of the adopted instruments were compared in order to verify if there were in fact improvements in the clients in terms of quality of life and adaptive behavior. This report also includes the characterization of the institution, as well as the description of the target population, the evaluation methodology, psychomotor intervention in institutional context, ending with a personal conclusion / reflection about the entire internship experience.
