O presente trabalho pretende entender as mudanças ocorridas na cultura portuguesa contemporânea e de que forma essas mudanças estimularam a emergência dos símbolos e artefactos identitários culturais. Pretendemos analisar o processo de recuperação ou transformação desses símbolos identitários na cultura portuguesa desde o pós-25 de Abril aos nossos dias. No âmbito desta dissertação de mestrado, considerámos três agentes principais na nova vinculação simbólica: a televisão, a publicidade e o design. Através deles veremos de que modo as imagens, símbolos e produtos culturais contribuem para a construção e reforço da portugalidade.
This paper aims at understanding the changes within contemporary Portuguese culture and how they will reinforce the identity and emergence of cultural identity symbols and artefacts. The goal is to analyse the recovery or transformation process of cultural identity symbols and artefacts within the Portuguese society from the April 25th Revolution to our days. Three main agents of these new symbolic relations have been considered within the scope of the present thesis: television, advertising, and design. They will show us how images symbols and cultural products contribute towards the construction and reinforcement of Portuguese identity.
