Esta dissertação visa compreender a noção de “insubstancial substante” tal como aparece na Teoria do Ser e da Verdade de José Marinho. Tendo em conta que esta noção é dita como sendo o novo nome do espírito, interrogamos pelo porquê desta reno-meação; interrogamos também pelo que se pretende dizer com esta nova noção; pelo modo como surge na Teoria; e de que modo esta noção consegue de facto traduzir aquilo que pretende. Para tal, num primeiro capítulo, debruçamo-nos sobre a concepção de filo-sofia do autor, o seu percurso espiritual, e sobre a estrutura, noções e princípios da Teoria; num segundo capítulo, sobre as noções de ser, verdade, “ser da verdade”, “verdade do ser”, “visão unívoca” e “cisão”; num terceiro, sobre os vários modos como o “insubstan-cial substante” é caracterizado: como enigma, como vínculo entre “visão unívoca” e “ci-são”, como o que assume o Nada, como o que subsiste sem substância e, por fim, como “liberdade divina”.
This dissertation aims at understanding the notion of "insubstancial sub-stante" as it appears in José Marinho's Teoria do Ser e da Verdade. Bearing in mind that this notion is called the new name of the spirit, we ask why this renaming; we also ques-tion what is meant by this new notion; by the way it appears in the Teoria; and and how this notion actually translates what it intends to do. For this, in a first chapter, we focus on the author's conception of philosophy, his spiritual course, and on the structure, notions and principles of the Teoria; in a second chapter, on the notions of being, truth, "ser da verdade", "verdade do ser", "visão unívoca" and "cisão"; in a third chapter, on the various ways in which the "insubstancial substante" is characterized: as an enigma, as a link be-tween "visão unívoca" and "cisão", as that which assumes Nothingness, as that which subsists without substance and, finally, as “liberdade divina”.
