Uma abordagem crítica às opacidades da IA criativa : ambiguidade, viés, hipérbole, antropomorfização e colaboração

| dc.description.abstract | Esta dissertação aborda o uso da inteligência artificial (IA) no campo criativo, discutindo as principais ambiguidades conceituais da IA e explorando como elas se refletem nas práticas criativas. Dados os avanços atuais nas aplicações da inteligência artificial, nomeadamente no campo criativo, o estudo enfatiza a importância da reflexão crítica que vai além tanto da celebração tecnológica quanto da rejeição tecnofóbica. Para tal, o estudo divide-se em duas partes que seguem uma abordagem teórica e analítica. Começa por discutir os principais conceitos e debates em torno da inteligência artificial, identificando as suas ambiguidades mais salientes, e analisa depois como essas opacidades se manifestam em práticas criativas que as reforçam ou expõem. Assim, o estudo discute primeiro a ambiguidade conceitual da IA e a necessidade de literacia, a suposição de neutralidade e o viés na IA, a retórica hiperbólica em torno da IA, bem como a tendência de atropomortizar a IA, culminando em uma crítica à noção de colaboração criativa. Após essa discussão, o estudo examina como essas opacidades são reproduzidas, criticadas ou abordadas por artistas contemporâneos, concluindo sobre como as práticas criativas reforçam ou respondem a essas ambiguidades. Dessa forma, o estudo busca contribuir para a promoção da literacia em IA e para o uso consciente e responsável da IA no campo criativo. Ele segue a crença de que tal compreensão torna possível reconhecer as limitações e o potencial da IA criativa, bem como as implicações éticas, estéticas e sociais da inteligência artificial. O estudo busca, portanto, estimular a reflexão e contribuir para uma compreensão mais ampla e crítica da IA em um cenário marcado pela diversidade de suas aplicações e implicações. | pt |
| dc.description.abstract | This dissertation addresses the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the creative field, discussing the main conceptual ambiguities of AI and exploring how they are reflected in creative practices. Given the current advances in artificial intelligence applications, particularly in the creative field, the study emphasizes the importance of critical reflection that goes beyond both technological celebration and technophobic rejection. To this end, the study divided into two parts that follow a theoretical and an analytical approach. It begins by discussing the main concepts and debates surrounding artificial intelligence, identifying its most salient ambiguities, and then analyzes how these opacities manifest themselves in creative practices that reinforce or expose them. Accordingly, the study first discusses the conceptual ambiguity of AI and the need for literacy, the assumption of neutrality and the bias in AI, the hyperbolic rhetoric surrounding AI, as well as the tendency to anthropomorphize AI, culminating in a critique of the notion of creative collaboration. Following this discussion, the study examines how these opacities are reproduced, criticized, or addressed by contemporary artists, concluding on how creative practices reinforce or respond to these ambiguities. In this manner, the study seeks to contribute to the promotion of AI literacy and a conscious and responsible use of AI in the creative field. It follows the belief that such understanding makes it possible to recognize the limitations and potential of creative AI, as well as the ethical, aesthetic, and social implications of artificial intelligence. The study therefore seeks to stimulate reflection and contribute to a broader and more critical understanding of AI in a scenario marked by the diversity of its applications and implications. | en |
