Between 1975 and 1979, Cambodia faced a critical period, with the Cambodian genocide and mass murder, led by Pol Plot and the communist Khmer Rouge party. This scenario led to the closure os schools, hospitals, embassies, etc., which meant that teachers, military personnel and people with good school or middle class background were persecuted and executed. Since then, Cambodia has been gradually reborn, where it was only in the 2000s that tourism and education became a reality in the country. âAn educational area for Phnom Penh, Cambodiaâ, is thus extremely important, working with educational needs, as a space for opportunities to learn and have better teaching conditions. Within the theme, we seek to give greater visibility to society, better conditions and connect education with everyone, giving children a space to learn. The project manifests itself through the proposal of a school from the 1st to the 9th grade, that is, from 5 to 14 years old. Leisure and living areas, markets and walking routes are also proposed, which are part of the investigation of an architecture to support the community, maintaining the dialogue between local activities and education.
