dc.description.abstract	Neste estudo, pretende-se tornar mais claro o modo como os valores modais e os processos de modalização da língua portuguesa interferem na compreensão oral e escrita dos aprendentes chineses de PLE. Sendo a modalização um vasto domínio da língua onde se codificam vastos valores contextuais e culturais e, sendo o mandarim e cantonês idiomas de tipologia afastada do português, é natural que tenham diferentes formas para exprimir os valores em causa. Nesta dissertação, partimos de um breve contraste entre as duas línguas, no que à modalização diz respeito, para testarmos a compreensão oral e escrita de aprendentes chineses e não chineses do nível B2 de PLE. Aos inquiridos foram propostos géneros discursivos tipificados para os níveis A2 e B1. Os resultados deste estudo são integráveis na discussão sobre a aquisição das competências pragmática e discursiva por alunos de PLE e permitem caracterizar, contrastivamente, a compreensão dos valores modais na língua portuguesa por aprendentes chineses. Das conclusões que foi possível retirar, resultam algumas indicações úteis para docentes, autores de manuais e outros intervenientes no processo de ensino-aprendizagem de PLE, designadamente a aprendentes chineses.	pt_PT
dc.description.abstract	Abstract: In this study, we intend to clarify how the modal values and the process of Portuguese modalization interfere in the oral and writing comprehension of the Chinese students of PLE (Portuguese as a Foreign Language). As modalization is a vast language domain, where the contextual and cultural values are codified and as well Mandarin and Cantonese are types of language far from Portuguese, it´s natural that they have different ways of expressing values in our concern. In this dissertation, we start from a short comparison between these two languages, in terms of modalization, to test the comprehension of Chinese students and students who are not Chinese studying in level B2 of PLE. The students comprehension is tested using typical genre for the teaching in levels A2 and B1. The results of this study can be integrated in the discussion of the acquisition of pragmatic and discursive competences of PLE students. This allows us to characterize the Chinese students’ comprehension of modal values of Portuguese in comparison with other students. The conclusions we draw provide useful indications for teachers, authors of textbooks and other participants in the process of teaching PLE, especially regarding Chinese students.	pt_PT
