The relevance of this research was to explore the role of the supervisor support in reducing the work-family conflict (CTF) and the promotion of work-family enrichment (ETF), as well as its relationship with burnout and engagement. The mediating role of CTF and ETF in the relationship between supervisor support, burnout and engagement, respectively, was also analyzed. Thus, the data were collected through a questionnaire applied to a sample (N = 2192) made up of Portuguese bankers. The results showed that the supervisor support is negatively related to the CTF and positively with the ETF, and that the CTF maintains a positive relationship with the burnout and the ETF maintains a positive relationship with the engagement. As far as mediation is concerned, both CTF and ETF explain the relationship between supervisor support, burnout, and engagement, although the relationship between supervisor support and burnout is total mediation and the relationship between supervisor support and engagement is partial mediation. Additionally, the supervisor support leads to the decrease of burnout due to the presence of the CTF, and also leads to an increase in the perception of engagement, either due to the presence of ETF or directly. In sum, this dissertation highlights the importance of the supervisor support, since this variable will help the bankers to integrate in a more balanced way, the roles of work and family.
