As vítimas secundárias constituem um segmento extremamente vulnerável da
população. Trata Trata-se de familiares próximos de vítimas diretas do crime de homicídio,
que vêem as suas vidas alteradas para sempre, na sequência do assassinato de um
ente querido. O trauma provocado por este acontecimento brutal, acaba por gerar
uma série de necessidades de índole psicológ ica, jurídica, financeira, de proteção no
trabalho, de segurança e ao nível da saúde. O ambiente familiar das vítimas
secundárias degrada degrada-se irremediavelmente, a sensação de segurança reduz reduz-se e
emerge uma necessidade de proteção no futuro. O sistema não p rovidencia resposta a
muitas destas necessidades, mas mesmo aquelas que encontram correspondência em
serviços existentes, acabam, muitas vezes por não ser satisfeitas. Ao longo deste
trabalho vamos tentar perceber porque é que isso acontece e apresentar pr opostas
que conduzam à solução este gravíssimo problema social.

These are close family members of direct victims of homicide, who see their lives changed forever fol lowing the murder of a loved one. The trauma caused by this brutal event ends up generating a series of psychological, legal, financial, occupational, safety and health needs. The family environment of secondary victims is irreparably deteriorated, their s ense of security is reduced and a need for protection in the future emerges. The system does not respond to many of these needs, but even those that are matched in existing services often end up not being satisfied. Throughout this work we will try to unde rstand why this happens and present proposals that lead to a solution of this very serious social problem.
