psicopatologia parental, estatuto relacional). Neste estudo, participaram 253 pais portugueses,
parental; a relação e predição do conflito interparental no ajustamento psicológico dos filhos;
The impact of inter-parental conflict and parental alienation on children's adjustment is well known in the literature, however, the same is not true about the predictors and moderators of these variables and relationships. This topic is addressed in the present study, which focused to understand the relationship between inter-parental conflict, parental alienation and children's psychological adjustment, taking into account the potential predictors and moderator variable (age, parental psychopathology, relational status). The sample consisted of 253 Portuguese parents with at least one child between 3 and 18 years old, of which 88 had divorced/separated relational status and 165 had married/cohabiting relational status. To obtain the results, descriptive and correlational analyzes were performed, as well as available equation models, through trajectory analysis. The results showed an association between parental psychopathology (anxiety, depression, hostility), inter-parental conflict, parental alienation and children's psychological adjustment, highlighting hostility as a predictor of inter-parental conflict and anxiety as a predictor of parental alienation; the relationship and prediction of interparental conflict on children's psychological adjustment; the moderating effect of relational status on the relationship between interparental conflict (interparental sabotage) and children's psychological adjustment; and also, age as a predictor of interparental conflict (interparental sabotage) and parental alienation. There were differences in results according to the relational status of the parents and according to the type of instrument used for parental alienation. The results provide important data for intervention in family situations of interparental conflict and parental alienation.
