We start from an understanding of the idea of a traveling artist in the Amazon region in northern Brazil, to think undertaken some processes that culminated in the production of works and aesthetic experimentation, forging certain identity for the region. So we started talking about the artists and scientists-travellers, that among the XVI and XIX centuries inscribed, on their own way, the landscape, the manners of a Brazil that was emerging, confirming to build an image and a Brazilian identity. The purpose of this article is to address, through some works of traveling artists of yore and today, this process of identity construction
