Novas tecnologias educativas e ensino de enfermagem : um estudo sobre opiniões

Neste estudo analisamos a opinião dos Professores de Enfermagem das Escolas
Superiores de Saúde e das Escolas Superiores de Enfermagem, acerca do Uso das Novas
Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação (NTIC) na formação de Enfermeiros e a
importância que lhes atribuem.
Neste sentido foi delineada uma pesquisa de tipo Quantitativa e Correlacionai. O
público-alvo são os Professores das Escolas Superiores de Saúde e de Enfermagem da zona
Centro do País, que colaboram na formação de Enfermeiros a nível de Licenciatura. Deram
a sua opinião através do preenchimento de um questionário multidimensional, abrangendo
as dimensões: os aspectos gerais e pessoais dos Professores, o uso que fazem das NTIC, e a
importância que lhes atribuem através da atitude face aos computadores e atitude face à
Internet.
Os resultados obtidos mostram que os Professores inquiridos usam mais as NTIC nas
suas actividades de preparação de aulas, actividades de pesquisa e em aplicações de
programas informáticos. Usam-nas com menos frequência para construção/produção de
materiais para as suas actividades e na interacção/comunicação com os seus colegas e
alunos.
Os Professores do sexo masculino referem que usam com mais frequências as Novas
Tecnologias face aos Professores do sexo feminino, o mesmo não se verificou em relação
aos anos de serviço, em que verificamos a hipótese formulada "Não existir diferença significativa nas respostas acerca do uso das NTIC tendo em conta os anos de serviço
como docente.”
São também os Professores mais jovens que referem usar mais as Novas Tecnologias, e
a partir dos 50 anos de idade existe uma tendência a uma diminuição do seu uso.
São ainda os Professores de Enfermagem do sexo masculino a terem uma atitude mais
favorável em relação aos computadores e à Internet face à atitude dos Professores do sexo
feminino.
Os Professores inquiridos valorizam no mesmo sentido o “Uso das NTIC” e “Atitude
face aos computadores e face à Internet”, foram obtidas correlações positivas. As
categorias com correlação mais elevada são as mesmas no que diz respeito aos
computadores e à Internet: “Preparação de aulas, Actividades de pesquisa e Aplicações de
programas informáticos” .
As atitudes face aos computadores e Internet obtiveram uma correlação positiva e
elevada, indicando-nos que a valorização da Internet segue o mesmo sentido da
valorização dos computadores.
Das variáveis estudadas as que mais afectam significativamente a opinião dos
Professores de Enfermagem sobre o Uso das NTIC são a Atitude face aos computadores a
Atitude face à Internet e a Idade.
Dos resultados obtidos são formuladas algumas propostas que poderão contribuir ou
constituir motivo para outras investigações.
In this study we analyse the nursing teachers’ opinion from “Escolas Superiores de Saude” and “Escolas Superiores de Enfermagem” about the use of the New Technologies of Information and Communication (NTIC) in the nurses’ degree courses and the importance which is given to them. In this sense a Quantitative and Correlational research was earned out. The teachers from “Escolas Superiores de Saude e de Enfermagem” in the center of our country were the target of the survey. Their opinion was given through a multidimensional questionnaire, which included the following topics: personal and general information about the teachers, how they use the NTIC and the importance they give to them according to their attitude towards computers and the Internet. The results indicate that the teachers use the NTIC more in their lesson preparation tasks, in information research tasks and computer applications. The NTIC are less used in producing materials for their daily activities and in communication with their colleges and students. The male teachers state that they use the New Technologies more often than the female teachers. This, however, didn’t correspond to our findings over the period of total working years. Younger teachers tend to use the New Technologies more and from the age of fifty onwards this tends to decrease. The male nursing teachers display more favourable attitudes towards computers and the Internet than female teachers. However, our results indicate that, in general, teachers who were surveyed give importance to the use of NTIC and have a positive attitude towards computers and the Internet. The categories with a higher correlation are those concerning both computers and the Internet, particularly in these subjects: lesson preparation, information research tasks and computer applications. Attitudes in relation to computers and the Internet are highly correlated. The results show that the variables that influence most significantly the use of NTIC are age, attitude towards computers and the Internet. Other research projects may emerge from the results registered in this study.
