Olhar
What makes us trust people? How is trust developed and kept? What brings people to trust and what consequences may trust beget? To look at this construct from a psychological standpoint makes us realize that despite being daily mentioned as a structural value it is essential for relationships to happen and maintain themselves. We always have the perception that we know little or very little about this construct, so often referenced and so often also neglected, especially when weighing the role it represents on the scale with which we balance our relationships, on many levels and various dimensions, so as to get clues to a practical orientation about the trust we have in each other and, why not, in ourselves as well. This dissertation intends to briefly reflect on how trust is perceived by individuals and how it may be perceived as predisposing factor for risk behaviors in the context of love relationships. To that effect, an open answer survey with three direct answer questions related to this construct was done. The qualitative analysis used revealed, if discreetly, that individuals still favor variables such as beliefs, perceived safety feelings, communication level, among others, to develop and keep a romantic relationship. It was also noticeable in the observed sample that none of the participants associated in a direct and conscious way trust to a potential predisposing factor for risk behaviors in the context of their love relationship.
