The resulting symbiosis between public and private spaces in the city culminates in the production of a heterogeneous whole called collective space. These spaces, in constant change and transformation, between transiting and remaining, perpetuate public life in the city. The present work focuses on the production of collective spaces as the main point of the intrinsic consolidation of the city of Lisbon. The main strategy is the rehabilitation and renovation of buildings and surrounding spaces belonging to industrial domains. The case of study is the former Fábrica Tinturaria Portugália and its surroundings, in Vale de Chelas, in Lisbon. The proposal is based on the original programmatic change of this complex through the insertion of a housing complex inside the current ruined structure, both as work and leisure spaces. This way, local regeneration is promoted, attracting new people to the area, as well as perpetuating the Memory and History of the place. This practice also suggests a response to the lack of space that Lisbon city centre presents us with. In a more and more globalized present, composed by quite diversified families and domestic groups, it becomes imperative to present solutions that give answer to a dwelling in constant change. Therefore, in the proposal presented, Flexibility and Adaptability take shape as processes of production of spaces, open and versatile as to their function, allowing a wide range of options for their use and appropriation, both interiors and exteriors, depending only on the needs of those who occupy them.
