concebem, vivenciam e experienciam o envelhecimento.
elemento.
This master thesis, focused on aging thematic, is presented as an exploratory study, whit a qualitative nature. The main objective is to understand How people with more than 60 years and involved in a project of performing arts, conceive, live and experience aging. In order to address the question, we used semi-directive interviews, with an average duration of 90 minutes, held to seven people (four females and three males) aged between 60 and 81 years. The interviews allowed to identify three categories of analysis: a) the conceptions of aging - of interviewees and the performing arts project according to those; b) the benefits and difficulties of participation in the performing arts project; and c) the diversity/multiculturalism expressed in generational interactions. These categories characterize aging as an inevitable and ongoing process, experienced differently by each individual, in which participation in a project of performing arts tends to foster benefits (e.g. training, need to learn and know, confrontation with yourself and with others, personal achievement, overcoming obstacles, limits of consciousness, memory training), and difficulties (e.g. physical and adaptation to the requested), and promote intergenerational encounter due to: i) the different age groups within the project, ii) issues of social and professional order in each element life.
