Abstract(s)
A integração económica representa na actualidade a alternativa mais viável
para a solução dos problemas económicos que África e, mais concretamente a
região subsaariana, enfrenta e que comprometem não só o crescimento
económico sustentado e o desenvolvimento humano dos países africanos
como a sua participação efectiva nas economias mundiais.
Tendo em atenção esta realidade, o presente trabalho desenvolve a teoria de
que Angola assume uma atitude passiva face a um dos processos de
integração económica ao qual é associada - o SADC - não obstante o facto de
enfrentar uma situação económica muito difícil.
Esta posição deve-se à ausência de vontade política por parte dos governantes
deste Estado, motivada pela situação de conflito militar que o país viveu
durante mais de vinte anos, por uma despreocupação face às questões
económicas do país e por algum receio do protagonismo que a África do Sul
poderá assumir na região Austral.
Nowadays, economic integration represents the most viable alternative for the solution of those economic problems that Africa, especially the sub-Sahara, encounters, and which compromises not only the sustained economic growth and the human deveiopment of African countries, but also its effective participation in the global economy. Taking this fact into consideration this work develops the theory that Angola assumes a passive attitude towards the progressive economic integration of which it is an integral part - the SADC - whilst confronting its own very difficult situation. This position is due to the lack of politicians' and state's will, aggravated by the military conflict that the country has suffered for the past twenty years, simultaneously being oblivious to economic matters plus some concerns that South Africa assume a leading position in the Eastern Africa region.
