Abstract(s)
Este estudo pretende analisar a evolução do padrão de vantagens comparativas de Moçambique relativamente à Commonwealth e CPLP entre 2003 e 2023, utilizando o Índice de Vantagem Comparativa Revelada (IVCR), o Índice de Herfindahl-Hirschman (IHH), e o coeficiente de correlação entre a estrutura das exportações de Moçambique e a estrutura das exportações globais dessas regiões. Concluiu-se que, durante o período analisado: 1) em termos de produtos, Moçambique tendeu a concentrar as suas exportações para a Commonwealth enquanto a Commonwealth tendeu a diversificar as suas exportações para a Mundo, não tendo havido aproximação do padrão de exportações de Moçambique para a Commonwealth ao padrão de exportações da Commonwealth para o Mundo, 2) também em termos de produtos, Moçambique tendeu a diversificar as suas exportações para a CPLP enquanto a CPLP tendeu a concentrar as suas exportações para o Mundo, mas os resultados apontam para uma certa aproximação do padrão de exportações de Moçambique para a CPLP ao padrão de exportações da CPLP para o Mundo e 3) as estruturas de VCR de Moçambique relativamente à Commonwealth e em relação à CPLP tenderam a divergir o que permite sustentar a hipótese de que a pertença simultânea a estas duas organizações foi benéfica para a diversificação do tecido exportador moçambicano.
This study aims to analyze the evolution of Mozambique's pattern of comparative advantages in relation to the Commonwealth and CPLP between 2003 and 2023, using the Revealed Comparative Advantage Index (RCA), the Herfindahl-Hirschman Index (HHI), and the correlation coefficient between the structure of Mozambique's exports and the structure of global exports from these regions. It was concluded that during the period analyzed: 1) in terms of products, Mozambique tended to concentrate its exports to the Commonwealth while the Commonwealth tended to diversify its exports to the World, and there was no approximation of Mozambique's export pattern to the Commonwealth to the Commonwealth's export pattern to the World, 2) also in terms of products, Mozambique tended to diversify its exports to the CPLP while the CPLP tended to concentrate its exports to the World, but the results point to a certain approximation of Mozambique's export pattern to the CPLP to the CPLP's export pattern to the world and 3) Mozambique's RCA structures in relation to the Commonwealth and in relation to the CPLP have tended to diverge, which supports the hypothesis that simultaneous membership of these two organizations has been beneficial to the diversification of Mozambique's export fabric.
