Serão introduzidas aqui algumas das principais questões metafísicas e epistemológicas da filosofia atual sobre a existência de Deus. Inicialmente, será apresentada a concepção padrão do teísmo como tese metafísica comum às três grandes religiões monoteístas. Em seguida, serão analisados alguns problemas em componentes desse conceito padrão e na interação com outras teses do teísmo, particularmente a relação entre onisciência e liberdade e o problema do mal. Por fim, o texto debate os principais desafios epistemológicos relacionados ao assunto na filosofia analítica contemporânea: a versão indutiva dos argumentos sobre a existência de Deus, a crítica ao evidencialismo e ao fundacionismo
clássico, bem como desenvolvimentos mais recentes, como o debate sobre o naturalismo materialista.
Abstract: The text introduces some of the main metaphysical and epistemological questions in current philosophy concerned to the existenc e of God. Initially, it presents the standard theistic conception of God, as a common core of the great monotheistic religions. Next, it discusses some issues internal to this concept and in the interaction of them w ith other theistic theses, particularly the relationship between omniscience and human freedom, and the problem of evil. The last part address es some of the most important epistemological problems related to the matter in today’s analytic philosophy: the inductive version of the arguments for the existence of God, objections to evidentialism and cla ssical foundationalism, as well as more recent discussions, like the debate on materialistic naturalism.
