entrevistas semi-estruturadas.
As conclusões do
The present investigation consisted of conducting a qualitative study aimed at describing the subjective experience of a sample of parents who participated in the pilot study of the 'SmartFeeding4Kids' program. ‘SmartFeeding4Kids’ is an intervention based on a digital platform that aims to promote positive parental feeding practices and a healthy diet in preschool children (two to six years old). The program aims to promote a greater consumption of fruit and vegetables and a lower intake of sugar by children. The testimonies of six participants were collected - of which three carried out the program until the end and three interrupted after the first two sessions or more - using semi-structured interviews. The interview included questions about the overall evaluation of the program, about the motivation, at the beginning of the program, to change parental eating habits and the food offered to children, and about the evolution of this same motivation throughout the program. The participants' perspective on the program characteristics that they considered more or less facilitating adherence and change, any new habits acquired and expectations regarding the probability of the new practices being maintained in the post-intervention period, was also collected. The results obtained confirm the role that the subjective experience of the participants plays in motivating change and the effect that the specificities of each participant can have on the contours of this experience. The importance of interventions aimed at parenting practices contemplating individualized support is reinforced. The conclusions of this study can also contribute to the reflection on the importance of harmony between the different caregivers of children for the realization of change. It was also identified the need to reflect on how to overcome the resistance of participants to self-monitoring and recording tools so that the positive effect of these resources in motivating change is not compromised.
