Resumo(s)
Este trabalho incide sobre o estudo de um conjunto cerâmico, proveniente dos trabalhos
arqueológicos realizados no sítio dos Funchais 6, em Beringel, Beja, durante o ano de 2008,
onde foram identificados várias estruturas negativas, como silos e fossos.
Dada a escassez de dados, respeitantes à ruralização no Baixo Alentejo, durante o período
islâmico, este estudo teve como objectivos enquadrar, cultural, cronologica e funcionalmente,
as realidades arqueológicas identificadas, como forma de as contextualizar regionalmente.
Pretende-se assim, dar um contributo para o conhecimento da região de Beja, neste período.
Para tal, seleccionou-se uma amostra de 359 peças cerâmicas, de um conjunto total de
4983 fragmentos, para estudo pormenorizado. A análise das pastas permitiu delinear,
claramente, a existência de um fabrico regional dominante no conjunto, em contraste, com
outros fabricos, associados a pastas claras e/ou com vidrados, de importação. A análise das
formas, organizadas em grupos funcionais, forneceu uma cronologia entre os séculos X-XII,
com uma clara predominância da loiça de cozinha e mesa.
Abstract: This work focuses on the study of a ceramic set, from the archaeological work conducted at the site of Funchais 6 in Beringel, Beja, during the year 2008 . Given the paucity of data relating to the ruralization in Alentejo, during the Islamic period, this study aims to frame, cultural, chronological and functional, the archaeological realities identified. The aim is to give a contribution to the knowledge of the region of Beja, in this period . For this, a sample of 359 ceramics was selected for detailed study, from a total set of 4983 fragments. The analysis of pottery compostition allowed to clearly delineate the existence of a dominant regional manufacture as a whole, in contrast with other manufactures, associated with imported pottery. The analysis of the forms, organized into functional groups, provided a chronology between the X-XII centuries, with a clear predominance of kitchen and table utensils
