panorama regional.
The terra sigillata from Sector C of Monte MoliĆ£o (Lagos) is comprised of Italic, South Gaulish, Hispanic and African productions, including plain and decorated vessels. A very small number present potterās stamps. Through its analysis it was possible to attest that the first italic imports appear in this sector in the in the reign of Augustus, although of little substance. South Gaulish imports are by far the most relevant, having their beginning in the reign of Tiberius. However, its peak was during the Flavian dynasty, a moment that was already detected as of great prosperity and development not only in Monte MoliĆ£o but also in LusitĆ£nia in general. The hegemony of South Gaulish productions over Hispanic ones until the end of the first century is similar to that observed in other consumption centers in the Algarve region, showing the importance of supply by sea. On the other hand, its superiority in relation to African productions until the middle of the second century is surprising, not reflecting the regional panorama.
