| dc.description.abstract | It is proposed through this work the creation of a three-dimensional bestiary from Umberto Eco's "Baudolino", where some creatures will be represented in three-dimensional format by complementing the description of Eco with others, obtained in different bestiaries. A review of state of the art is the first step, then a brief study of the historical context with particular emphasis on the fall of Constantinople integrating it into the fantastic geography of the creatures of the land of Prestes João. The investigation is developed through a collection of authors related to the theme of medieval bestiaries, with emphasis on the digital creation of monsters and their authors, the cases of Pliny the Elder and the chronicles of Nuremberg. After this, the second phase of this work is the practical part, when the chosen creatures are finally recreated, where for each one of the characters the author try whenever possible to find scientific anatomical parallels, establishing a bridge between the real and the imaginary. This bridge was made complementing the information coming from the work with descriptions of bipeds, birds among others always so that the formal result is that of a creature of possible existence. The present study empowers a detailed method of collection and treatment of the textual description that is then elaborated in each of the twelve creatures selected for the study. The three-dimensional translation of these is achieved through the use of highly complex three-dimensional drawing tools capable of conferring the desired detail and reality for its realization.
