| dc.description.abstract | No âmbito do mestrado em Arte, Património e Teoria do Restauro, procuro nesta tese desenvolver a questão da holografia artística como tipologia pertencente às artes virtualmente tridimensionais que, por sua vez, se encontram inseridas no vasto grupo das artes dos novos media. Deste modo, procuro não só abordar as características específicas de um grupo de tipologias artísticas que denomino como artes virtualmente tridimensionais, com o intuito de as diferenciar das demais tipologias pertencentes aos novos media com as quais não partilham estas especificidades, como também procuro salientar o papel da holografia artística neste contexto, uma vez que, ainda dentro deste subgrupo, possuí uma série de particularidades a diversos níveis que a demarca das tipologias mais próximas. Para tal, começarei por explicitar o que são as artes virtualmente tridimensionais explorando o conceito aplicado à arte e, dentro desse conceito, o que se pode entender como espaço e tridimensionalidade; irei também expor quais as tipologias que considero inserirem-se neste conceito, contextualizando qual o posicionamento da holografia artística dentro deste conjunto de tipologias; e abordarei a dicotomia existente entre a bidimensionalidade física e a tridimensionalidade virtual que as obras inseridas neste grupo nos apresentam. Posteriormente, entrarei em maior detalhe no campo da holografia artística, abordando as suas particularidades, como a virtualidade da imagem holográfica, o espaço virtual que esta ocupa e a interação entre esta e o seu observador, as técnicas usadas para a sua produção, a correlação nela existente entre a cor e a iluminação, uma vez que a segunda permite ao artista controlar a primeira, e, por sua vez, pode condicionar a imagem que o observador irá visualizar, e por fim, a relação existente na holografia entre o movimento do observador, a imagem holográfica e a linearidade e reversibilidade temporal desta. Por último, abordarei as diversas formas como a holografia surge na arte, quer por si só, enquanto imagem holográfica, quer no contexto de outras tipologias como a instalação, a escultura e a pintura, finalizando com uma reflexão sobre a pertinência da holografia enquanto género artístico específico ou não, pondo assim em questão se esta se trata propriamente de uma especificidade ou de um médium interarticulável. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Abstract: As a theme for my masters’ course thesis in Artes, Património e Teoria do Restauro I’m going to approach the issue of the artistic holography as a typology that belongs to the virtually three-dimensional arts, which in their turn are included in the vaster group of the new media arts. In this way, I not only want to address the specific characteristics of this group of artistic typologies that I call virtually three-dimensional arts, in a sense where we can tell them apart from the other typologies that belong to the new media arts, but in the process, I also want to highlight the role of the artistic holography within this subcategory, as it has certain elements that differentiate it from other typologies of the same subcategory. To do so, I’ll start by explaining the concept of virtually three-dimensional arts and within this concept that involves virtuality, what could we understand by space and three-dimensionality. I’ll also list which are the typologies that I find that fit this concept and which is the place of artistic holography in this group; and will also be discussed the dichotomy between the physical bi-dimensionality and the virtual three-dimensionality that is seen in the pieces of this group. I’ll go further in detail within the field of artistic holography, approaching its own particularities such as the virtuality of the holographic image, the virtual space that it occupies and the interaction between the observer and the holographic image itself; the techniques used to create these artistic holograms; the relationship between colour and the illumination, as the second allows the artist to control the first one and in its turn it determines the image which the observer can or can’t see; and finally, the correlation that exists between the movement of the observer, the holographic image and the linear time reversibility of the image. Finally, I’ll approach the diverse forms in which holography appears in the art, as by itself as sole holograms, or in a context, or as an element in other typologies such is the case of installation, sculpture and painting. I’ll end this approach with a reflexion about weather is holography a specific artistic genre or if it is an interchangeable medium. | pt_PT |
