Em 2011, foi criado, no IGOT/ULisboa, o Projeto Nós Propomos! Cidadania e Inovação na Educação Geográfica. Os alunos identificam problemas socioambientais significativos, realizam trabalho de campo, apresentam propostas de resolução, que partilham com a comunidade, numa perspetiva de cidadania territorial. O Projeto está presente em oito países iberoamericanos. Os alunos dizem passar a conhecer melhor a sua comunidade, estarem mais atentos aos seus problemas, embora tendam a desvalorizar algumas das competências que desenvolvem. Fora do quadro institucional do Projeto, vai-se desenvolvendo uma cultura escolar em Geografia de resolução de problemas socioambientais pelos alunos – a “cultura Nós Propomos!”.
In 2011, the Project We Propose! Citizenship and Innovation in Geographic Education was created at IGOT/ULisboa. Students identify significant socio-environmental problems, carry out fieldwork, present resolution proposals, which they share with the community, from a perspective of territorial citizenship. The Project is present in eight Iberoamerican countries. Students say that they get to know their community better, that they are more attentive to their problems, even though they devalue the skills they develop. Outside the institutional framework of the Project, a school culture in Geography of solving socio-environmental problems by students is being developed – the “We Propose culture!”
