do projecto transnacional STOP ViEW â Stop Violence Against Elderly Women,
procura validar a pesquisa anteriormente realizada no Ăąmbito do projecto e,
profissionais e totalizando dezasseis participantes.
As dificuldades identificadas abrem
The current study, set within one of the intermediate stages of implementation of transnational Project STOP ViEW â Stop Violence Against Elderly Women, aims to validate the research previously conducted in the project and, simultaneously, to assess the existing situation and discover new paths through which to go further in the study and intervention on elder abuse in general and elderly women abuse in particular. To achieve these goals a focus groups methodology was used, in which the input of professionals from different fields of intervention was collected; the sample was comprised of 4 diverse groups of professionals in a total of sixteen participants. In general the results gathered through the groups show a high level of agreement in participantsâ contributions, supporting the data collected by the research conducted in a previous stage of the project. The difficulties identified open potential new paths for study and intervention, in a quest for the decrease of recurrence and increase of quality and number of support options available for people involved in specific situations of violence, particularly elderly women targeted for violence.
