The discontinuity, uncertainty and unpredictability in employment that characterizes the professional paths of young graduates in recent times, employment trajectories, the relationship between vocational training and employment and the processes of transition from school to the labor market have been the subject of research by Sociology, Sociology of Education, Sociology of Organizations and Labor, Economics, and other disciplines. Also, at the political level have deserved attention in the field of educational and employment policies and at the organizational level in management practices, attraction, and talent management. This research presents the characteristic elements of the impact of the training obtained by graduates of the School of Hospitality and Tourism of the Algarve in the school years 2009/10 and 2010/11 on the professional trajectories of these young people. It presents a typology of paths that articulates the educational and professional profile of these graduates with the professional profile required by the employment market and the modalities of employment, contractual and salary relationship over these years. The methodological option and strategy followed was mixed, with the application of a questionnaire survey involving 36 former students and semi-structured face-to-face interviews with 8 graduates. It was possible to conclude that the courses, diploma, and technical preparation obtained facilitated the professional transition of former students but were not decisive in the current professional situation and consequently in the professional trajectories of young people. It has been proven that the transition to work of graduates of this school is rapid and that there is a correspondence between initial training and the functions performed along the career and, we found that the trajectories assumed forms and characteristics of employment mobility influenced mainly by external factors.
