| dc.description.abstract | A participação da mulher na gestão do desporto é crescente em diversas partes do mundo, apesar disso, elas ainda são sub-representadas em muitas áreas, como nas posições de liderança e tomada de decisão. Em Portugal, onde foram analisadas 33 federações do desporto afiliadas ao Comité Olímpico de Portugal e mais o próprio COP, observou-se também uma sub-representação das mulheres em seus comités executivos. Com a elaboração e análise de entrevistas semiestruturadas realizadas com representantes mulheres dos comités executivos das organizações do desporto em Portugal buscou-se perceber como estas membros observavam a diferença de género dentro das organizações, tanto em relação aos estereótipos masculinos e quanto às práticas organizacionais. Após a análise das entrevistas, uma das conclusões é que entidades do desporto estudadas não possuem políticas de igualdade de género e, portanto, uma das implicações práticas deste trabalho é a indicação dos benefícios e incentivos ao desenvolvimento de políticas que estabeleçam o equilíbrio entre homens e mulheres nos comités executivos. Algumas soluções apresentadas na literatura como a criação de quotas para mulheres capacitadas assumirem posições dentro das organizações, identificação, através dos Recursos Humanos das entidades do desporto, de talentos já existentes, de forma a incentivar e capacitar ainda mais as mulheres que já trabalham nas organizações. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Women’s participation in sport management is growing in different parts of the world, despite this, they are still underrepresented in many areas, such as leadership and decision-making positions. In Portugal, where 33 sports federations affiliated with the Olympic Committee of Portugal and the COP itself were analysed, there is also an under-representation of women in their executive committees. With the elaboration and analysis of semi-structured interviews carried out with female representatives of the executive committees of sport organisations in Portugal, we sought to understand how these members observed the gender difference within organisations, both in relation to male stereotypes and as to organisational practices. After analysing the interviews, one of the conclusions is that the sports entities studied do not have gender equality policies and, therefore, one of the practical implications of this work is the indication of the benefits and incentives for the development of policies that establish the balance between men and women on executive committees. Some solutions presented in the literature, such as the creation of quotas for qualified women to assume positions within organisations, identification, through Human Resources of sports entities, of existing talents, in order to further encourage women who already work in organisations. | pt_PT |
