Representação dilemática da toxicodependência : um estudo entre as forças de segurança

Este trabalho consiste na apresentação de uma investigação sobre a representação social da toxicodependência e da pessoa toxicodependente entre os membros das forças de segurança que intervêm na área da investigação criminal. Foi evocada a Teoria das Representações Sociais de Moscovici (1961/1970) e, especificamente, o conceito de Themata, introduzido pelo mesmo autor nos anos noventa. A themata central da presente investigação consiste na dicotomia crime-doença, que tem pautado, ao longo do tempo, o universo social discursivo sobre o tema da toxicodependência, designadamente o legal. Recentemente, a lei da descriminalização do consumo de droga impôs uma nova representação a este grupo, pelo que se pretendeu conhecer a dinâmica dessa mudança, com consequências directas na relação com a pessoa toxicodependente. A investigação foi organizada em duas fases: estudo exploratório, que visou aceder ao universo linguístico dos respondentes sobre o tema, e estudo principal, em que foi aplicado um questionário (n=250), construído de raiz, com três versões experimentais aleatoriamente distribuídas, para testar as hipóteses em estudo. As hipóteses afirmavam, globalmente, que a representação social em estudo é dilemática; e especificamente, que é mais orientada para a dimensão crime; e que o contexto de evocação influencia a emergência dos conteúdos representacionais correspondentes às dimensões da themata central. Os resultados confirmaram a hipótese global, mostraram a vulnerabilidade de alguns conteúdos ao contexto e revelaram que os conteúdos que se aproximam mais da dimensão doença ocupam mais espaço no campo representacional do que o previsto inicialmente. This work presents an investigation about the social representation of drug dependence and the drug dependent person among the members of the security forces who work in the criminal investigation area. It was evoked the Theory of Social Representations of Moscovici (1969/1971) and specifically the concept of Themata, proposed by the same author in the nineties. The central Themata of the present investigation is the dichotomy crime-disease, which translates, along the time, the social discursive universe about the drug dependence theme, particularly the legal system. Recently, the law of decriminalization of drug consumption has imposed a new representation to this group, and this is the reason why it was intended to know the dynamics of this change, with direct consequences in their relation with the drug dependent person. The investigation was organized in two phases: the exploratory study, which aimed to access the linguistic universe of the respondents about the theme and the main study, in which was applied a questionnaire (n=250) with tree experimental versions, randomly distributed, made with the purpose of testing the study hypotheses. The hypotheses globally affirmed that the social representation in study is dilemmatic; and, specifically, more guided to the crime dimension; and that the context of assessment influences the emergency of the corresponding representational contents to the dimensions of the central themata. The results have confirmed the global hypothesis, have shown the vulnerability of some contents to the context and have revealed that the contents which approached more to the disease dimension occupy more space in the representational field, than it was expected. The discussion, configured in the general conclusions, invites to the accomplishment of new studies on the relationship between these two social actors, considering the importance of such that a symbolic relationship and at the same time being so concrete that it can also burs
