De São Vicente a Jacarepaguá: uma genealogia de mulheres Tupiniquim e a itinerância da cerâmica paulista

| dc.description.abstract | O contexto colonial de São Paulo e Rio de Janeiro conectou pessoas Tupiniquim, portugueses e seus descendentes, articulando interesses estratégicos em novas realidades políticas e sociais, como no Engenho do Camorim. Neste cenário, a genealogia de uma importante mulher paulista de São Vicente - Esperança da Costa, permitiu recuar no tempo até sua antepassada Tupiniquim Cecília Rodrigues (nascida c.1505) e suas descendentes, que provavelmente estiveram entre as comunidades de práticas que apropriaram e transformaram a cerâmica comum portuguesa na Cerâmica Paulista. A compreensão desse cenário resulta de vasta quantidade de dados, interpretados através de uma abordagem interdisciplinar sob os pressupostos da persistência das comunidades e da transmissão de conhecimento entre as linhagens de mulheres, que permite explicar a presença de cerâmicas produzidas com as mesmas tecnologias em tempos e lugares diferentes nos últimos 500 anos. | dc.description.abstract | The colonial context in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro connected Tupiniquim and Portuguese people, and their descendants, articulating strategic interests in the light of new social and political realities, as in the case of the Camorim Plantation. In this scenario, the genealogy of a prominent woman by the name Esperança da Costa, hailing from the town of São Vicente, in São Paulo, allowed us to trace her ancestry all the way to her Tupiniquim ancestor Cecília Rodrigues (born c. 1505) and her descendants, who were probably members of the communities of practice who appropriated and transformed Portuguese coarse ware into Paulistaware. The understanding of this history is a result of extensive amounts of data, interpreted through a multidisciplinary approach under the premises of the persistence of such communities and the transmission of knowledge through female lineages, which explains the presence of ceramics made with the same technologies at different time and place over the last 500 years. Cecilia and her contemporaries left a legacy shared until the present. | pt_PT |
