| dc.description.abstract | As Bibliotecas Públicas, atualmente, enfrentam diversos desafios, entre muitos o cativar e fidelizar o público são dos desafios mais difíceis e preocupantes de enfrentar. Contudo, pretende-se com este estudo compreender as fragilidades das Bibliotecas Públicas, assim como as suas potencialidades, nomeadamente no caso da Biblioteca Polo do Carregado. Compreender, essencialmente, qual o papel e missão da Biblioteca Pública no seio da comunidade e que serviços dispõe para dar resposta às necessidades da população. Como pode a Biblioteca transformar-se, não apenas, num local de análise e recolha de informação e conhecimento, mas também num local onde se encontra a partilha com utilizadores, leitores e bibliotecários. Transformar a Biblioteca Pública num lugar de convivência, de sociabilidade, confortável e acolhedor, ou seja, no “terceiro lugar” da comunidade. A presente dissertação de Mestrado consiste num estudo de caso, no qual se explora o tema Bibliotecas Públicas no âmbito do “terceiro lugar” da comunidade, e tem como objeto de estudo concreto a Biblioteca Municipal de Alenquer e a Biblioteca Polo do Carregado. Como objetivos deste trabalho propomos: aumentar o número de utilizadores da Biblioteca do polo do Carregado; sensibilizar a comunidade para a existência da Biblioteca; tornar a Biblioteca no terceiro lugar da comunidade. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Public libraries currently face a number of challenges, being the captivation and retention of the public the most difficult and troubling challenges to face. However, this study aims to understand the weaknesses of Public Libraries, as well as their potentialities, particularly in the case of the Pólo of Carregado Library (Carregado Library Hub). Essentially, to understand the role and mission of the Public Library within the community and what services it provides to answer to the needs of the population. How can the Library become not only a place of analysis and collection of Information and Knowledge, but also a place where there is sharing with users, readers and librarians. To transform the Public Library as a place of coexistence, of sociability, comfortable and welcoming, that is in the "third place" of the community. This dissertation consists of a case study, which explores the topic of Public Libraries within the "third place" of the community, and has as specific study object the Municipal Library of Alenquer and the Library Pólo do Carregado (Carregado Library Hub). As objectives of this work we propose: to increase the number of users of the Library of the Pólo of Carregado (Carregado Library Hub) ; make the community aware of the existence of the Library; make the Library the third place in the community. | pt_PT |
