Este trabalho centra-se na análise do percurso histórico da foz do Guadiana entre a II Idade do Ferro e a fase romana imperial. Com base nos dados arqueológicos, numismáticos e também em algumas referências obtidas das fontes clássicas, apresenta-se uma leitura da evolução histórica das dinâmicas económicas, comerciais e políticas da região, relacionando-as com as diferentes conjunturas associadas às várias etapas cronológicas.
This paper focuses on the analysis of the Guadiana estuary historical trajectory between the II Iron Age and the Roman Empire. Based on archaeological data, numismatic and also in some references from classical documents, we present a framework of the historical evolution of the region, specifically in its economic, commercial and political dynamics, attempting to relate them to the specific conjunctures that are associated with the different chronological stages.
