Resumo(s)
Bees play a fundamental role in pollination — the process on which a large part of plants depend to reproduce. Such a process is vital to the survival of ecosystems and human life. Despite the importance of bees, this insect needs recognition at a time when its count seems to be falling globally. The purpose of this project is to create a set of illustrations from the collection of the team behind the Red Listing of Invertebrates of mainland Portugal. Its goal is to be part of a publication project that could serve as an identification guide of bees (family Apidae) that showcase the visual diversity of this insect in Portuguese territory. With the general Portuguese population as the targeted audience, the species identification is made easy by scientific illustrations that cover their unique details.
