This report was prepared within the scope of the Masters in Geography Teaching, from the University of Lisbon and presents the didactic experience, through the sharing of knowledge about urban areas and environmental heritage. This experience involved students from the 11th year of schooling, at the Rainha D. Leonor School, in Alvalade. The present teaching experience is based on the participation of the class in the contest 'My Roadmap is Green' and mobilizes the contents of the academic sub-unit entitled “Urban areas: internal dynamics”. The teaching of this theme and approach to concepts about environmental heritage has the capacity to involve both the development of skills in Geography, as well as the promotion of education for citizenship, as students articulate different concepts from the lived reality. In addition, the urban areas approach is linked to the Sustainable Development Goals enshrined in the 2030 Agenda. In order to link the participation in the competition, Agenda 2030 and the Geography A program itself, some teaching and learning strategies have been proposed based on viewing videos, face-to-face and online group work, in order to facilitate learning and to captivate students' attention and responsible participation during classes. The academic year 2019/2020 proved to be a different year from the usual one and this difference was noticed suddenly due to the evolution of the epidemiological situation caused by Covid-19, in Portugal. This situation led to the suspension of classroom teaching activities, motivated by the imposition of mandatory social isolation. In this context, this report also shows the adaptation of schools and teachers to this new reality in which teaching started to be carried out through the internet and through videoconference classes.
