In recent decades, the introduction of Information and Communication Technologies in most areas of knowledge has led to profound changes and provided, also to Museology, new ways to carry out their functions. All information produced in museums is now available in an easily distributable and reusable format. When exhibiting a work of art, the possibility of access to all digital documentation produced by other museum functions envisions opportunities unthinkable until a few years ago. The Information and Communication Technologies intend to add information to the works of art that, by themselves, cannot be shown - zooming in to observe details impossible to distinguish with the naked eye, allowing a better understanding of the creative process through the preparatory drawing highlighted by infrared reflectography or detecting any regrets and repaints by observing the results from other methods of analysis. Having as object of study the São Vicente Polyptych exposed in Room 12 of the Portuguese National Museum of Ancient Art, the multimedia project developed, using new multi-touch technologies, allows any visitor to enlarge, rotate, overlay or compare the results of various field of exams carried out about this work
