A vida sexual sob prova: Impactos da vida profissional na construção da experiência sexual

De que forma a vida sexual dos portugueses é afetada pela vida profissional? Este artigo tenta
responder a esta questão a partir de 35 biografias sexuais, recolhidas numa pesquisa mais alargada sobre
sexualidade na sociedade portuguesa. Partindo dos conceitos de experiência sexual e prova social, tenta-se
compreender como os indivíduos articulam o que lhes acontece nestas duas esferas da vida (profissional e
sexual), construindo a sua experiência a partir de três lógicas de ação: integração, estratégia e subjetivação.
Os resultados apontam para a diversidade de modalidades de construção da experiência, visível em três
plataformas: as relações entre a agenda profissional e a agenda sexual; a gestão da informação, em ambiente
profissional, a respeito de experiências fora da heteronorma; e os impactos na vida sexual da mobilidade
geográfica decorrente da vida profissional. O sujeito sexual constrói-se assim na tensão entre a adesão a papéis
familiares, profissionais e sexuais; na gestão de recursos, oportunidades e estratégias nestes campos da vida; e no
maior ou menor distanciamento reflexivo em relação aos mesmos, conquistando para si um espaço
emancipatório de identidade.
How is the sexual life of the Portuguese affected by their professional life? This article addresses this question drawing on 35 sexual biographies, collected during a wider research about sexuality in Portuguese society. Drawing on the concept of sexual experience and social proofs, the article tries to understand how individuals articulate their experiences in these two spheres of personal life (professional and sexual), building their sexual experience from three different logics of action: integration, strategy and subjectivation. Results highlight the diversity of modalities in the construction of experience, visible in three platforms: the relations between the professional agenda and the sexual agenda; the management of information regarding experiences beyond the heteronorm; and the impacts of geographical mobility, due to professional reasons, on sexual life. The sexual subject is thus constructed in the tension between how individuals adhere to social roles (family, professional and sexual); how they manage their resources, opportunities and strategies in these spheres of life; and the way they distance themselves reflexively from the latter, conquering for themselves an emancipatory space of identity.
