O campo da educação e formação de adultos constrói-se actualmente sobre o
princípio da valorização epistemológica da experiência num quadro que visa
promover a qualificação da população adulta, permitindo deste modo dar
resposta aos desafios trazidos pela globalização da economia e pela inovação
tecnológica. Integrados nesta perspectiva, os Cursos de Educação e Formação
de Adultos (Cursos EFA) apresentam-se como uma alternativa viável que
possibilita ao adulto, através de percursos abertos, individuais e flexíveis
complementar a sua formação escolar, profissional ou ambas.
A integração da componente de Língua estrangeira – Inglês nos cursos EFA de
nível secundário representa um válido contributo neste processo de formação,
enquanto língua franca que reconhecidamente é. Ao viabilizar esta componente
de formação espera-se que o formador elabore os materiais técnico
pedagógicos e os instrumentos necessários ao desenvolvimentos do processo
formativo. Ao operacionalizar esta componente torna-se imperativo que o
formador, defina métodos, estratégias e actividades que em conformidade com
os Referenciais de Formação, permitam a implementação desta componente.
Na abordagem prática que aqui se apresenta são considerados vários
princípios explicitados ao longo deste trabalho de projecto, nomeadamente
sobre a educação de adultos, o ensino e aprendizagem de línguas estrangeiras
e o desenvolvimento de competências.
The field of adult education is currently set on the principle of the epistemological value of experience within a larger objective which aims to promote the qualification of the adult population enabling them to face the challenges of economic globalization and technical innovation. Based on this principle, the education and training courses for adults (Cursos EFA) are a valuable alternative that will allow the adult throughout flexible, wide and individual processes to complete his/her education and training, whether on a professional or scholar basis or both. The integration of the English foreign language component in the secondary level of the Cursos EFA represents a valid contribution in this education and training process, being as it is a Língua Franca. By enhancing this component it is expected that the teacher is able to produce pedagogical and technical materials and the necessary instruments to support the development of the training and educational process. On operating this study area it becomes imperative that the teacher defines methods, strategies and activities, which according to the Training Guides may allow the development of this study area. In the practical approach which is now presented different aspects of this project work have been considered, namely as to what adult education is concerned as well as teaching and learning foreign languages and the development of competencies.
