| dc.description.abstract | Desde o início da Humanidade que o Homem caminha e marca a paisagem, deixando o seu testemunho, do qual a arquitetura faz parte. O Alentejo é um destes exemplos, repleto de Património, no qual a Torre da Águias aparece como elemento místico do território. Este projeto surge então da oportunidade de idealizar a conservação, restauro e reabilitação desta peça única – a Torre das Águias – e da Vila das Águias onde está inserida, fortemente inspirado por elementos como a paisagem e a arquitetura vernácula, que contribuem para a significação cultural do local. É então neste espírito, que é proposto um programa de Turismo Cultural Rural, associado ao desenho de vários itinerários, que procuram valorizar o território e incentivar a relação do Homem com a cultura. Num constante diálogo entre o passado e o presente, aos edifícios tradicionais alentejanos preexistentes, conservados e reabilitados segundo um princípio de intervenção mínima, fundamentado por documentação histórica, são conjugados novos equipamentos para completar a resposta ao programa, mas sem comprometer a harmonia com a Vila das Águias e sem desvirtuar a sua imagem. A utilização do solo como matéria-prima e os métodos de construção em terra como elemento principal das novas construções, vem recuperar uma herança pouco valorizada. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Since the beginning of Mankind that men has travelled and lef marks on the landscape, leaving his testimony, of which architecture is a part. Alentejo is one of this examples, bursting with Heritage, where ‘Torre das Águias’ emerges as a mystic element of the territory. This project arises as an opportunity to propose the conservation, restoration, and rehabilitation of the unique artwork - ‘Torre das Águias’ - and the village on which it lies, heavily inspired by elements such as the landscape and vernacular architecture, that contribute to the cultural significance of the location. In this spirit emerges the proposal of a program, Cultural and Rural Tourism, associated with the design of various itinerary, that aim to value the area and encourage the relationship between Man and culture. In a constant dialogue between the past and the present, from the preexisting traditional buildings, conserved and rehabilitated, according to a principle of minimal intervention, founded on historic documentation, modern buildings are employed in order to complement the response to the program without compromising the harmony with the village and misrepresent its image. The use of earth as a raw material and earth building methods as the main element of new constructions, comes to recover an undervalued heritage. | pt_PT |
