| dc.description.abstract | Tendo como fonte a Imprensa Periódica Portuguesa, a presente dissertação visa estudar a prática de vilegiatura em Sintra entre 1860 e o fim da Primeira Guerra Mundial e como essa prática se traduziu em termos arquitetónicos e artísticos. Estruturalmente a investigação encontra-se repartida em dois grandes blocos. O primeiro centra-se em assuntos contextuais como o desenvolvimento da vilegiatura climática em Portugal, o veraneio na Imprensa nacional e a história de Sintra. O segundo foca-se na apresentação dos resultados obtidos da análise efetuada aos periódicos selecionados para o estudo. O seu primeiro capítulo expõe as famílias e figuras nacionais e internacionais que se dirigiam à região e a dinâmica das suas estadias. O seguinte trata espaços e cenários. Organizado em dois tópicos fundamentais, este versa principalmente sobre como as residências do High life foram vistas na Imprensa pelos cronistas da época. Por fim, o seu terceiro e último capítulo, estuda a vida em veraneio, as sociabilidades desenvolvidas e as suas decorações efémeras. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Based on the Portuguese Periodical Press, this dissertation aims to study the practice of summering in Sintra between 1860 and the end of the First World War and how that practice was translated into architectural and artistic terms. Structurally, the investigation is divided in two major parts. The first focuses on contextual topics such as the development of climate vacations in Portugal, the summer holidays in the national press and the history of Sintra. The second focuses on the presentation of the results obtained from the analysis performed. Its first chapter exposes the families and national and international figures who went to the region and the dynamics of their stays. The following concerns spaces and scenarios. Organized in two fundamental points, this one deal mainly with how the High life residences were seen in the Press by the chroniclers of the time. Finally, the third and last chapter treats the developed social gatherings and their ephemeral decorations. | pt_PT |
