This report is based on my curricular internship served at the Camões - Institute for Cooperation and Language, I.P. and its main theme is the translation of pedagogical documents. Its aim is to provide context to the work carried out throughout the internship, thus creating the opportunity to evaluate the process, analyze the constraints and have a better understanding of the aspects that could be improved. The first chapter of the report includes a description of the host institution and the overall internship experience, incorporating aspects regarding the institution's mission and internal organization, as well as the work methodology that was used and a brief presentation of the translated texts and the only retroverted text. The second chapter starts out by establishing a theoretical framework focused on characterizing technical translation and the technical translator. Then, takes place a characterization of the type of texts that were translated: the part that concerns pedagogical texts includes aspects related to the structure of manuals and guides and typical grammatical aspects of instructional texts; the part that concerns legal texts is focused on the complexity of its language and specialized lexicon. The third and final chapter is about the different types of translation issues both of lexical and syntactic nature, presenting the challenges I encountered while translating the texts, along with the ways I found to solve them. The report is concluded with a final reflection regarding the internship and the report.
