Santa Iria de Azóia, originally part of Alvercaās county, in 1886 became part of the current Loures county, within the Lisbon region. It lies on a valley that in the past, namely in the XVI century, was very prone to the construction of recreational farms (Pires, 2016). In 1537, a country house was built for Jorge de Barros, which became known as āQuinta de Vale de Floresā, that in the meantime has been forgotten and fell into degradation, becoming one of the fifteen most endangered monuments in Europe. The location was considered a Public Interest Estate and, today, it longs to return its life whilst ensuring that it is appreciated by locals and all others, due to its valuable and rich cultural and landscape heritage. This document presents a proposal based on the reading of the place and territory. The thought line was built to return a socially useful programme to the location, restoring it at the landscape level, as a way to solve the urbanistic problems that arose with the locationās northern and southern endsā contact (that was severed by highways). The introduction of a Cultural Hub programme aims to explore the localsā interaction, including local artists, through Art. Besides the programme, the proposed gardensā delimited design will reflect the acknowledgement of the location seeking to bring back fundamental life to Santa Iria de Azóia.
