Este estudo tem por objectivo caracterizar o nível de envolvimento em actividades de arte
em 179 estudantes do ensino básico de escolas rurais e urbanas. O estudo pretende avaliar a
experiência artística e o envolvimento desses estudantes na apreciação, locais e criação de
arte em geral, e em domínios de arte específicos (i.e. música, literatura, cinema, dança, artes
visuais, fotografia e teatro). Além disso, o estudo pretendeu comparar este nível de
envolvimento em função do contexto territorial (i.e. urbano versus rural) dos estudantes.
Foi construído e testado, com o alfa de Cronbach, um questionário através do qual foi
possível observar que os estudantes apresentam níveis modestos de envolvimento na
apreciação de arte, nos locais de apreciação de arte, na criação de arte e na experiência
artística em geral. Esses níveis também variam no que diz respeito aos diferentes domínios de
arte. Verificam-se algumas diferenças significativas nos níveis de envolvimento na arte em
função do território. Os estudantes rurais apreciam mais a literatura e frequentam mais a
biblioteca e os estudantes urbanos frequentam mais o cinema e espectáculos de dança. Na
criação de arte os alunos urbanos cantam ou dançam e atuam significativamente mais. Foi
ainda registada uma variedade de relações significativas entre o envolvimento nos diferentes
domínios da arte.
The goal of this study was to characterize the level of involvement in art activities of 179 elementary students of rural and urban schools. The study aims to assess the artistic experience and the involvement of these students in art appreciation, locals and creation in general and in specific art fields (i.e. music, literature, film, dance, visual arts, photography and theater). In addition, the study aimed to compare this level of involvement according to the territorial context (i.e., urban versus rural) of the students. It was built a questionnaire, tested with Cronbach's alpha, through which it was observed that students have low levels of involvement in art appreciation, in art appreciation places, in creation of art and in artistic experience in general. These levels also vary with regard to the different fields of art. Some significant differences occur in the levels of involvement in the art according to the territory. Rural students enjoy more literature and frequent more the library and urban students attend more to movies and dance performances. In creating art, urban students sing or dance and act significantly more. It was also registered a variety of significant relationship between involvement in different fields of art.
