Localizado numa rua de elevado valor histórico, que nos transporta desde o Palácio da Ajuda até aos jardins em Belém, encontramos o antigo Quartel do Regimento de Lanceiros Nº2 num local privilegiado na cidade de Lisboa, espaço murado ao longo da Calçada da Ajuda. Rodeado de edifícios e locais de valor patrimonial e histórico, distinguindo-se pela sua dimensão e isolamento em relação à sua envolvente, outrora destacando se na história pela sua forte ligação com a Família Real Portuguesa.
Este Projeto Final de Mestrado apresenta uma proposta de requalificação do antigo Quartel do Regimento de Lanceiros Nº2, que se encontra na freguesia de Belém, fazendo fronteira com a freguesia de Ajuda, visa a criação de espaços para esta comunidade envolvente.
As freguesias mencionadas apresentam um nível de envelhecimento alto, assim como a falta de proximidade entre a população, necessitando de equipamentos orientados para estas carências. A proposta prevê com este projeto de reabilitação, uma estrutura de apoio à comunidade com diversos equipamentos que proporcionassem a aproximação e facilitem as relações intergeracionais, de forma a motivar a integração de cada um na comunidade. Desta forma é pretendido a elaboração de um espaço comunitário que incluí área de restauração, salas de workshops e biblioteca, assim como uma residência sénior e uma creche.
Ao longo deste trabalho serão retratados o estudo e a aplicação de conhecimentos adquiridos para a realização desta proposta, como a sustentabilidade e a intergeracionalidade, de forma a converter um espaço militar de valor histórico, num espaço comunitário originando um novo centro urbano para a população.
Located on a street of high historical value, which takes us from the Palace of Ajuda to the gardens in Belém, we find the former Barracks of the 2nd Lancers Regiment in a privileged location in the city of Lisbon, a walled space along the Calçada da Ajuda. Surrounded by buildings and places of heritage and historical value, it stands out for its size and isolation from its surroundings, once distinguished in history for its strong connection to the Portuguese Royal Family. This Master’s Final Project presents a proposal for the redevelopment of the former Barracks of the 2nd Lancers Regiment, located in the Belém parish, bordering the Ajuda parish, aiming to create spaces for this surrounding community. The mentioned parishes have a high level of aging, as well as a lack of proximity among the population, requiring facilities geared towards these needs. The proposal anticipates with this rehabilitation project a community support structure with various facilities that promote closeness and facilitate intergenerational relationships, aiming to encourage the integration of each individual into the community. Thus, the goal is to create a community space that includes, a catering area, workshop rooms, and a library, as well as a senior residence and a daycare. Throughout this work, the study and application of acquired knowledge for the realization of this proposal will be portrayed, such as sustainability and intergenerationality, in order to transform a historically valuable military space into a community space, giving rise to a new urban center for the population.
