Resumo(s)
The research strategy underpinning the excavation of
the Panta Str ă mo ş ilor and the methodology followed
in the undertaking of this task are outlined and discussed
in Chapter 3. Here, we (1) detail the stratigraphy
observed in the excavated area and discuss the
mise en place of the cave’s sedimentary fi ll, (2) derive
the corresponding implications for the interpretation of
the fi nds and features observed on the surface of the
different areas of the Pe ş tera cu Oase system, whether
excavated (Panta Str ă mo ş ilor) or not (Galeria celor Trei
Cranii, Galeria Lung ă , Sala Mandibulei, and Galeria
Culcu ş urilor), and (3) diagnose these surfi cial fi nds
and features as a complex palimpsest with an extended
formation history, for which we propose a diachronic
model.
