The current economic model foments a profound inequality, poverty and social needs. The economic interests prevail over human's value. International trade increases the dichotomy North/South, increasing differences between developed and developing countries, considering the western, industrial and capitalist perspective. The aggravation of social, economic and political problems gives now a recognition of the importance of alternative economic models. Is throughout this reality that the measuring of the social impact of Fair Trade (FT) is important in artisans' groups in Peru, which implies a case study in loco. The present analysis has the purpose of a theoretical framework on Solidary Economy (SE) and how the FT contributes to an increase on this artisans' life. This vision is based on the Buen Vivir theory which defends the respect between human beings and mother nature, indigenous cultures and ancestors' techniques. Through the obtained results and knowing that the demonstration is in a small scale, it is possible to comprehend the positive value of the impact of FT, in the better income of the artisans and the consequences of it in their own life. Nevertheless, there are some complains and discontent which serve as recommendations. This analysis centralizes Buen Vivir, good life, cultural respect, it suggests political and economic changes. Changes in the international system with local development policies. It suggests a transformation through ES that will put mankind in the center, that respects the environment, cultures, ancestral craft techniques, human rights, promotes women empowerment and a more egalitarian, equitable and fair society.
