It is our aim to analyse in which ways different types of leadership affect teacher’s motivation in schools that have a special educational programme: Priority Programme of Intervention in Educational Territories. Firstly, the work now presented is intended to pioneer studies which involve schools with special programmes as mentioned before and secondly, we intend to develop studies related to the influence of leadership on teacher performance. The José Saramago school (AEJS) is an educational organization which consists of a group of schools that has specific characteristics and is different from other schools because of the dynamics of the educational Programme of Intervention in Educational Territories. Teachers are a valuable asset for the success of this programme, so it is necessary to integrate them and motivate them adequately. They must have a sense of belonging and they should participate as part of a process which intends to achieve success. Thus, it is considered that leadership and motivation are essential aspects to this success, and that this goal is only possible by taking into account all elements of the organization.
