Abstract(s)

The issue to be addressed is the achievement of mutual knowledge of cultures with the History of Art, in two concrete cases. At the Mohammed V University of Rabat one teaches History of Portuguese Art (16th-18th centuries) where religious art dominates. In the Faculdade de Belas-Artes de Lisboa, in History of Art I, the basic principles of Islamic Art are taught. In both cases only the own culture is known. Art is the expression of the intimacy of each time. The History of Art is a contribution to the knowledge of cultures
